Family-owned wholesale grocery distribution

Our model

Direct and warehouse. One accountable partner.

Some of what you order ships from an HRR distribution center. Some ships direct from the brand. Both run through one account, one team, and a clear answer about which path applies before you buy.

Direct vs. warehouse

Two ways to get a brand onto your shelf.

A distributor can only stock so much. HRR Foods runs two supply paths side by side, so your store can carry both the everyday items that have to be there and the specialty finds that make it worth the trip.

01 Stocked by HRR

Warehouse

HRR buys the product and holds it in one of our distribution centers. When you order, we pick, pack, and deliver it to your store on our own routes and partner carriers.

  • Stocked and controlled by HRR
  • Next-day delivery where coverage allows
  • Mix brands on one consolidated truck
  • Case-level ordering and one HRR invoice

02 Shipped by brand

Direct

The brand ships the product. HRR coordinates the order, and the brand sends it straight to your store or DC — which lets us offer a catalog far larger than any warehouse could hold.

  • Inventory sits with the brand, not in our DC
  • Opens up niche, new, and large-case items
  • Timing follows the brand’s schedule
  • Coordinated by your HRR account team

At a glance

Where the two paths differ.

The product is the same. The inventory position, the delivery, and the timeline are not. This is the comparison our account team walks through during onboarding.

The constant

One account, one team, and one place to ask — whichever path an item takes.

How we choose

The right path for each item.

The decision is not about which model is better. It is about how an item moves. Fast, predictable sellers earn warehouse space. Depth and discovery often come direct.

  1. 01

    Velocity earns the shelf

Fast, predictable sellers justify warehouse space. That is how an item graduates into the stocking model.

  2. 02

    Depth comes direct

Specialty and gourmet range often lives with the brand, so we coordinate it rather than warehouse it.

  3. 03

    New brands start lean

A brand can prove demand on the direct path, then move into the warehouse as velocity builds.

  4. 04

    Nothing is a surprise

Your account team confirms the path, lead time, and terms before the order is placed.

The operating model

One plan, from brand to your back door.

Direct and warehouse are supply paths, not separate businesses. The operating model around them is what makes the catalog usable: curation, one ordering surface, one delivery relationship, and one team accountable for the result.

  1. 01

    Curate the set

Category specialists review turns, margin, duplication, and local demand to decide which brands belong on your shelf.

  2. 02

    Source it

Fast movers are bought into an HRR distribution center. Deeper or niche items are set up on a direct path with the brand.

  3. 03

    Order in one place

Approved retailers order through the portal or their account team. The path and lead time are visible before the order is placed.

  4. 04

    Move it

Warehouse orders ship from the closest DC. Direct orders are dispatched by the brand and tracked through delivery.

  5. 05

    Stay on it

One team handles reorders, short ships, credits, and the next category review — regardless of which path an item came from.
